Cindy Morton

June 10, 1961 — February 22, 2019

Cindy Morton

Cynthia Lynn Carmack Morton, 57, passed into heaven Friday, the 22nd day of February, after a courageous battle with inflammatory breast cancer. She won the battle because she is now pain free, happy, and celebrating with Jesus and her heavenly family. Cindy entered this world on June 10, 1961, as the third child of Howard (Sonny) and Ava Mavene George Carmack in Norfolk, Virginia. After a brief time in Virginia and then Key West, FL, she was relocated at age three following the death of her mother to grow up with her maternal grandparents, Rufus and Ila George, in Farmington. Cindy excelled in school, attending Farmington Elementary and Alcorn Central High School, where she graduated in 1979. She later completed all studies and requirements to become a registered nurse and worked over 30 years as a labor and delivery nurse at Magnolia Regional Health Center. Cindy was well known for her experience and expertise in her chosen field. Cindy surrendered her life to her Lord at a young age and lived out her faith every day. She loved her church family at Danville Baptist Church where she enjoyed co-teaching a children’s Sunday School class. Nothing brought her greater pleasure than giving to the Lord with her talents and offerings. Through her entire ordeal with this horrific disease her strength and determination was an inspiration to all who knew her. Her faith in her Lord never wavered. Cindy would want everyone to know Heaven is very real and it is her deepest desire that all would repent and believe on the One who holds her soul. Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 pm Sunday, February 24, 2019 and from 1 pm till service time Monday, February 25, 2019 at Magnolia Funeral Home.
