A Celebration of Life service for Herbert Glenn Houpt, 83 of Corinth, MS will be Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 2:00 P M at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with Military Honors. Bro. Bill Wages and Bro. Rhesa Davis will officiate the service. Visitation will be Saturday, May 18, 2019 from 12:00 Noon until service time at Magnolia Funeral Home. Mr. Houpt passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at Magnolia Regional Health Center. He was born July 10, 1935 in Memphis, TN to Carl Albert Houpt and Frieda Mae Larmer. He was a newspaper carrier for the Daily Corinthian. Mr. Houpt served his country in the Army for 7 years and in the Air Force for 2 years. He was of the Southern Baptist faith and was a member of North Corinth Baptist Church. He was a member of Civil Air Patrol and was an airplane pilot and instructor. Glenn was an avid reader and was a history buff. He liked listening to music, playing guitar, banjo and played the tuba in high school. He loved singing and his son and grandchildren were the light of his life. Glenn is survived by his wife of 47 years, Margaret Davis Houpt of Corinth, MS; his son, David Ross Houpt and wife Ashley of Cordova, TN; 2 grandchildren, Cooper Houpt and Carson Houpt; his brother-in-law, Bro. Rhesa Davis and wife Jolynn of Hickory Withe, TN; cousins, other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his father Carl Albert Houpt and his mother, Frieda Mae Larmer Houpt. Pallbearers will be David Coln, Danny Shook, Johnny Derrick, Daniel Derrick, Jonathan Derrick, Ken Davis and Mark Davis. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Mr. Herbert Glenn Houpt.
