Jerry Darnell Glidwell

A Celebration of Life service for Jerry Darnell Glidwell, 76 of Corinth, MS, will be Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 2:00 P M at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with interment to follow at Dogwood Cemetery. Bro. Randy Bostick and Bro. Bobby McCord will officiate the service. Visitation will be Saturday, October 5, 2019 from 12:00 noon until service time at Magnolia Funeral Home. Mr. Glidwell passed away Thursday, October 3, 2019 at Magnolia Regional Health Center. He was born March 19, 1943 in Alcorn County, MS to Oliver Glidwell and Effie Rogers Glidwell. He was a member of Kendrick Baptist Church and was a bus driver at Alcorn Central. He was a people person, who loved Alcorn Central basketball and trading horses. Darnell is survived by his wife of 49 years and 10 months, Lois Glidwell of Corinth, MS; his daughters, Sandie Nix and husband David of Prattville, AL and Tammie Ray and husband David of Corinth, MS; 4 grandchildren, Sarah Nix Irvin (Sam) of St. Louis, MO, Samuel Nix of Corinth, MS, Aaron Ray of Tupelo, MS and Will Ray of Tupelo, MS; brother, Bobby Glidewell (Shirley) of Corinth, MS; sisters and brothers-in-law, Christine Forsythe of Corinth, MS, Faye Dixon (Bill) of Corinth, MS and Betty Glidewell (John) of Selmer, TN; other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Oliver Glidwell; his mother, Effie Rogers Glidwell; his brothers, Hershel Glidwell, Ray Glidwell, Roy Glidwell and Billy Glidwell; his sisters, Ruby Glidwell Hill, Betty Glidwell Feazell and Patricia Glidwell Bright; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Viola Mask (Clifford), Margie Esary (Caxton), Bennie Robertson (Anna), Jimmy Robertson, Audrey (A.W.) Robertson, Joyce Robertson Hutson and Billy Robertson. Pallbearers will be Bobby Simmons, Lowell Hinton, Steve Leggett, Steve Glidewell, Tim Poindexter and Joe Duncan. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Living Free Ministry, P. O. Box 224, Corinth, MS 38835.
