Funeral services for Jim Ed McCalister, 92, are set for Monday, July 31, 2017 at 1pm at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with burial at Brigman Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, July 30, 2017 from 5:00pm-9:00pm and Monday, July 31, 2017 from 11:00am until service time at Magnolia Funeral Home. Born February 19, 1925 in Corinth, MS, Jim Ed was a logger and the owner of McCalister's Sawmill. He was of the Baptist Faith and a member at North Corinth Baptist Church. Those left to cherish his memories are his sons; Leon McCalister and wife Joyce – Glen, MS., Jimmy McCalister and wife Kathy – Corinth and Eddie McCalister and wife Connie – Corinth; daughters, Hilda Haley and husband Fred- Counce, TN and Betty Sue Rogers – Corinth; 8 grandchildren, Lane McCalister and wife Kim, Tammy Klueger and husband Kevin, Georgiana Owens, Felicia McCalister, Chris Haley, Alicia Doran and husband Michael, Betty Michelle Carney and husband Lonnie and Kevin Dwayne Rogers and wife Haylie ; 15 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; sisters, Mary Parker – Corinth and Polly Bray – Franklin, IN; other relatives and a host of friends. He is preceded in death by his wife : Clara Potts McCalister; one great grandchild; son-in-law: Johnny Dwayne Rogers; father: John McCalister; mother: Birdie Jackson McCalister; brothers: Grady McCalister, Bobby Joe McCalister and Ray McCalister and a sister: Mildred Grimes. Pallbearers will be Lane McCalister, Michelle Carney, Chris Haley, Kevin Rogers, Felicia McCalister and Alicia Doran. Bro James Voyles will officiate the service.
