Judy Gifford went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at the age of 63 at North Mississippi Medical Center - Tupelo. She was born in Alcorn County, MS on July 28, 1957 to Christine Forsythe and the late J.L. Forsythe and grew up in the Union Center Community. She married her soulmate, Billy Gifford, in 1974. Together they had two children, Tammy and Wade. For a number of years, Judy worked as a receptionist and taught Sunday school. She has served Jesus since a very young age and grew to fall in love with the Lord which was evident in her life. Her hobbies included scrapbooking, gardening, writing, quilting, and spending time with family, and she even authored two Christian books. She enjoyed playing games, watching movies, and having long talks about God with her granddaughter, Lauren. Her legacy and dedication to serving God will live on through those whom she touched by her humble, Godly example, and her kind, forgiving spirit and selfless nature was evident to all who knew her. Judy never worried about winning the race but only cared about who she could help along the way. She was a member of Church of the Crossroads and will forever be in the hearts of her family and friends. Visitation is scheduled from 12 pm till service time Friday, November 13, 2020 at Magnolia Funeral Home – East. Masks and social distancing are encouraged. A celebration of Judy’s life will be held on Friday, November 13, 2020 at 2 pm at Dogwood Cemetery officiated by Bro. Nelson Hight and Bro. Donnie Waldrop. Magnolia Funeral Home – East Chapel is entrusted with the arrangements. Interment will follow in Dogwood Cemetery. Pallbearers include Jason Forsythe, Jacob Forsythe, Brandon Forsythe, Michael Bright, Chad Gifford, and Brandon Shaw. Honorary pallbearers include the Unique Ladies of Tweenager Class @ Church of the Crossroads. Those left to honor Judy’s memory include her husband, Billy Gifford of Glen; her daughter, Tammy Gifford of Glen; her son, Wade Gifford and wife Michelle of Glen; her mother, Christine Forsythe of Walnut, MS; her granddaughter, Lauren Gifford; her brother, Pete Forsyth of Walnut, MS; her sisters, Janine Bright and husband Robert of Corinth, Chrissy Lee and husband Tommy of Corinth, and Jennifer Cannon and husband Leroy of Moscow, TN; her sister-in-law, Gayle Forsythe of Kossuth; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her brother, Jacky Forsythe. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hope Food Pantry @ Church of the Crossroads.
