Rebecca Mavine Rowsey, 68, of Guys, TN, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2020 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN. She was born on November 26, 1951 to the late Eldridge and Velma Keel Rhodes. She attended Alcorn Central High School and was a former employee of Refreshments Incorporated (a division of Coca-Cola), the Daily Corinthian newspaper and was a member of Covenant Baptist Church. Having worked at Refreshments, Coca-Cola was at breakfast, dinner and supper. She could make you laugh, had a zest for life, gave the best back rubs, loved wildlife, LOVED the Statler Brothers, and was a great cook. She could drive with her elbows while putting on makeup with a car full of kids. She will forever be remembered in the hearts of her family and friends. A private Celebration of Life service honoring Mavine will be held for the family at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories on Saturday, August 8, 2020. Visitation for family and friends is scheduled from 5-8 pm Friday, August 7, 2020 @ Magnolia Funeral Home. Interment will be in Trinity Cemetery - Michie, TN. Magnolia Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. Those left to honor Mavine’s memory include her husband of 53 years, Joe Rowsey of Guys, TN; her daughters, Rebecca Michele Chamberlain of Springfield, TN, Jennifer Leigh Woodard and husband Darrell of Paducah, KY, Jamie Renee Rowsey of Corinth, and Samantha Rowsey of Guys, TN; her sons, Joseph McKinley Rowsey and James Cecil Rowsey both of Michie, TN; four granddaughters, Cecilia Chamberlain, Katelyn Woodard, Sydney Woodard, and Sarah Chamberlain; a grandson, Levi Rowsey; her brothers, Roy Gene Rhodes and wife Nita of Corinth, Jerald Dean Rhodes and wife Janice of Michie, TN, and Eugene Rhodes and wife Shirley of Corinth; her sister, Lorene Sherman and husband Ross of Wiggins, MS; her sister-in-law: Sue Rhodes of Hamilton, MS; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eldridge and Velma Keel Rhodes; her brother, Ardean Rhodes; and her sister, Charlene Bates. Online condolences may be expressed at magnoliafuneralhome.net.
