Alvin Eugene Dorsey

A Celebration of Life memorial service for Gene Dorsey, 81 of Corinth is set for Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 2:00pm with Military Honors. Rev. Rick Wells will officiate the service. Born September 9, 1939 in San Jose, California, Gene passed away on December 26, 2020 at Magnolia Regional Health Center. Gene is a member of Indian Springs United Methodist Church. He is a retired Chief with the United States Navy, after retiring from the Navy he worked as a correctional officer in Florida, a sheriff deputy in Kansas, then he retired from Boeing. Gene is a Master mason York Rite Knights Templar. Gene is survived by his wife, Gipsie Dorsey of Corinth, MS; daughters, Terrie Elaine Dorsey of Broken Arrow, OK; Shelley Jo Cantrell of Hollister, MO; Stacie Jean Tyo and husband Bob of New Braunfels, TX, Tobey Evonne Periman and husband James of Cassville, MO; Amanda Sue Agan and husband Marty of Elizabethton, TN; son, Jarrod Kackley and wife Cindy of Corinth, MS; 20 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Vermillion of Phoenix, Arizona; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a Host of Friends, He is preceded in death by his father, John William Dorsey; mother, Zelma Pearl Terry Dorsey; half brothers, John William Dorsey, Jr. and Paul Dorsey.
