Funeral services for Amy Overbey, 59, of Walnut, MS are set for Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at 2pm at Christ Temple Apostolic Church in Walnut with interment in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, August 10, 2026, from 5pm-8pm and Tuesday, August 11, 2026, from 12pm-2pm at Christ Temple Apostolic Church. Bro. Scott Pulliam and Bro. Clay Hall will officiate the service. Born June 9, 1967, in Corinth, MS., Mrs. Overbey passed from this life on August 5, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford. She was a retired cashier and of the Christian faith. Amy was a woman who deeply loved her family, cherishing every moment spent with them. Her bond with her daughter was especially close, resembling that of best friends. A true people person, she never met a stranger and was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need. Hardworking and dedicated, she found great joy in caring for her birds and dog. Above all, she possessed a wonderful sense of humor and took pride in keeping everyone around her laughing. Amy is survived by her daughter, Brittany Thornton (Joseph); father, Johnny Pittman; honorary granddaughter, Aly Thornton; brother, Scott Pittman (Tina Dunn); sister, Tina Wells (Russell); nieces and nephews, Casey Wells (Kristina), Kyle Wells, Taylor Pittman, Raylan, Jax and Mady; other relatives and a host of friends. She is preceded in death by her son, Bobby Wayne Skinner, Jr.; and her mother, Shirley Wilbanks Pittman. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Mrs. Amy Overbey.
