Barbara Jewell Phillips

Barbara Jewell Phillips, 83 of D’iberville, MS, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at Gulfport Memorial in Gulfport, MS.  Graveside service will be held Sunday, November 6, 2022 at 2:00 P M at Magnolia Gardens.  Bro. Mike Lee will officiate the service.  Mrs. Phillips was born on January 9, 1939 in Tyler Town, MS to Charles Hayward Magee and Jessie Era Fortenberry McGee.  She was a member of Popps Ferry Baptist Church in Biloxi, MS.  She enjoyed reading, cooking and traveling.  She loved sitting in a rocker on her patio with her grand dog.  Barbara is survived by her sons, Albert Phillips and Dale Phillips; her daughter, Sherry Cooley; two grandchildren, Shannon Phillips Rowland and Seth Cooley (Maria Jeanfreau); two great grandchildren, Edie Rowland and Aubrey; special niece, Betty Derrick (Jerry); numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Lee Phillips; her father, Hayward Magee; her mother, Jessie Fortenberry Magee; her brothers, Charles Hayward Magee, Jr.; Ralph Magee and Bobby Magee and her sisters, Floria Athalee Thomas and Betty Barber.  Pallbearers will be Jeff Alred, Jeff Kennedy, Brandon Derrick and Jeremy Derrick.  Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Mrs. Barbara Phillips.
