He lived a beautiful life in which he was a devoted husband, a loving father, a generous friend, and a faithful servant to the Lord. Bobby was born to the late Allen and Lillian Elam, in Corinth, Mississippi on January 27th, 1935. But for two years in Germany, Bobby resided in Mississippi up until his passing. Bobby graduated from Farmington High School, where he played basketball. After graduating, Bobby joined the Army, serving two years before being honorably discharged and returning to Mississippi. Bobby went on to serve the community by working at various banking institutions in the tri-county area, during which time he obtained banking degrees from Ole Miss, LSU, and the University of Colorado, ending his career as senior vice president of First American National Bank in Iuka, MS. After retirement, as he was not quite ready to settle down, Bobby obtained his realtor and appraiser’s license. Bobby met and married the love of his life, Barbara Ann, in 1961 and went on to welcome their son Brett to complete their family. Bobby was an avid Ole Miss fan, college football fan and golfer, all of which he passed on to his son. Bobby also loved to hunt and spent countless weekends with his son, friends, and family hunting. Bobby was a kind, generous and loving husband, and father, who was loved by all who knew or met him. Bobby grew up in a large family, and was happiest when he was with his family, both extended and immediate. Bobby is survived by his wife, Barbara; his son Brett (Lauren), and his grandson Baylor; his brothers Kenneth (Betty) Elam and Russell (Janice) Elam; sisters Carolyn (Kempe) Hodges; and Wanda Nash, and many beloved nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his sister, Hattie Wilhite, his brother, David Elam, and his parents.
