Bobby Glidewell, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on September 4, 2026. He loved Jesus, cherished his family, and was an inspiration to those who knew him. Bobby married his beloved wife, Shirley Glidewell, on January 26, 1962. Together, they shared more than 64 years of marriage. He worked for many years as an electrician for TVA and, alongside Shirley, owned and operated B&R Appliance and Hardware for 21 years. Bobby faithfully served North Corinth Baptist Church, where he became a deacon on November 17, 1991. His faith and love for Jesus were central to his life.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley; his daughter, Jan Greene and husband Barney; his son, Joe Glidewell and wife Victoria; his grandchildren, Jeremy Reader, Leah Parker and husband Berry, Joseph Johnson and wife Cory, Joshua Johnson and wife Rachel, Tyler Glidewell and wife Brittany, Kyle Glidewell and wife Bri, and Bryson Glidewell; as well as his great-grandchildren, extended family, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Effie Glidewell; his brothers, Roy Glidewell, Billy Glidewell, and Darnell Glidewell; and his sisters, Patricia Brite, Ruby Hill, and Betty Feazell.

Bobby lived his life with a heart devoted to Jesus, a love for people, and a willingness to serve others with all his heart. He never met a stranger and never hesitated to make someone feel welcome. His life was a reflection of the love and grace he found in Jesus, and the impact of that love will continue through the many lives he touched. “Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23
