A Celebration of Life Memorial service for Charles “Charlie” Lee Butler, 84 of Corinth, MS is set for Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 3pm at Magnolia Funeral Home – EAST. Visitation will be prior to the service from 2pm-3pm at Magnolia Funeral Home – EAST. Dr. Randy Bostick will officiate the service with the help of Rosston Droke, Rev. John Rush and Rev. Butler Vin Cole. Born January 17, 1938 in Woodbury, TN., Charlie passed away peacefully on Friday, May 13, 2022 at his home. He graduated from Tullahoma High School, Tullahoma, TN in 1956. He went on to graduate from Belmont University in Nashville, TN with a B.S. Degree in Education and Business in 1962. Charlie worked as a terminal manager in the trucking business for 38 years and retired from Ryder Truck Lines, Inc. He also served as safety director in the concrete business for Southern City Concrete in Jackson, TN. A majority of their life was spent living there prior to moving to Corinth, MS. Charlie is a member of Oakland Baptist Church, where he served faithfully in their card ministry. He loved his family and friends and enjoyed fishing, yard work, sports, treasure hunting, technology, following the TN Vols and most of all spending time with his family. Charlie is survived by his daughters, Carol Anne Droke (Mark), Dena Lee Foster (Steve) and Lindsay “Butler” Vin Cole; 4 grandchildren, Rosston Droke, Rachel Anne Droke, Zachary Foster and Emily Foster; brother, Dr. Elmer “Dean” Butler; sisters, Doris “Kay” Rush (Rev. John), “Sally” Mae Wilcox and Mattie “Sue” Beaty (Chris); several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine “Dennie” Butler; father, Elmer Marshall Butler; mother, Margaret “Maggie Bell” Duggin Butler and brother, James Edward Butler. In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to the Oakland Baptist Church 2020 Building Fund, 1101 South Harper Road, Corinth, MS 38834.
