Clara Price

A Celebration of Life Service for Clara Francis Burcham Price, 94 of Rienzi, MS, will be Friday, April 21, 2023 at 1:00 P M at Magnolia Funeral Home – East Chapel with interment to follow in Burcham Family Cemetery next to David and Johnny.  Bro. Warren Jones, a special friend to Clara, will officiate the service.  Loving memory remarks will be made by Candi Shelburn , Eric Price and Kayla Smith. Visitation will be Thursday, April 20, 2023 from 5:00 P M to 8:00 P M and Friday, April 2023 from 12:00 P M until service time at Magnolia Funeral Home – East.  Mrs. Price passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at Tishomingo Living Center in Iuka, MS.  She was born March 11, 1929 in Danville, MS to Clyde and Eva Rorie Burcham.  Clara married David Price January 13, 1945 in Danville, MS and they had 5 children.  She owned her own business, Prices’s Florist and Ceramic Shop.  She attended NMCC majoring in oil and charcoal painting and received several awards and merits during her tenure there.  She painted each one of her 16 grandchildren’s portraits and will be surrounded by these paintings for the service.  Her and David were founding members of The First Congregational Christian Church in Douglas, GA.  Upon moving back home, they attended Kemp’s Chapel Baptist Church in Rienzi, MS.  She had two very special companions during her Alzheimer’s journey – her babies (dolls), J.J. and Sarah Clare, who will be making the final journey with her.  Clara is survived by her four children, Dianne Houston and husband Mark, Jeannie Lafevers and husband Larry, Joe Price and wife Connie and Eddie Price; 16 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sister, Linda Knight; sisters-in-law, Shirley Price Dees, Reba Sachs and Clara Crabb Burcham; many nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.   She was preceded in death by her husband, David Price; her son, Johnny Price; her granddaughter, Jennifer Price; parents, Clyde and Eva Rorie Burcham; sister and brother-in- law, Betty and Talmadge Hickman: brother and sister-in-law, Cleston and Christine Burcham; brothers, Olan Burcham and Roger Burcham; numerous aunts, uncles, in-laws, cousins and family members. Pallbearers will be her grandson’s, Levi Houston, Dusty Price, Chad Bragg, Andrew Price, Wesley Price, Brady Cunningham and Eric Price.  Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Mrs. Clara Francis Burcham Price.
