David "Hollywood" Franks, a beloved member of his community and a dedicated family man, passed away at his home in Rienzi, Mississippi, on September 28, 2025. He was born on January 9, 1964, in Corinth, Mississippi, where he would go on to create a life filled with passion, laughter, and connection. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Throughout his life, David built a career as a truck driver, a profession he embraced wholeheartedly, relishing the freedom and adventure that came with driving his Big Rig. His years of truck driving were marked by countless stories, each reflecting his vibrant personality. Known affectionately as "Hollywood" during his younger years as a wrestler, David became a familiar face who "never met a stranger," welcoming everyone he encountered with warmth and friendship.
Beyond his career, David cherished the time spent with his family, creating lasting memories, especially with his grandchildren. Whether it was gathering around the grill for a hearty meal or watching wrestling together, he took joy in these moments that underscored his deep love for family.
David is survived by his wife of 15 years, Loretta Franks; his son, Tyler Franks (Alissa); stepdaughters, Courtney Hyder and Ashley Hyder; 7 grandchildren, Kynlee Jo Franks, Tyler Sammy Franks, Ethan Edgington, Jake Edgington, Elanore Lawson, Violet Caron and Cooper Lawson; other relatives and a host of friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Janette Bullard Franks and his brother, Rodney Franks.
David leaves behind a legacy of kindness and a spirit that touched the lives of many. He will be profoundly missed by all who knew him, yet his memory will live on in the hearts of those who are fortunate enough to have crossed his path.
