David Lee Latch, 72, of Corinth passed away February 1, 2026 at his home after a hard fought battle with cancer. He was born on December 24, 1953 in Corinth, MS. At 15 months old he moved with his late parents to Chicago, IL where he attended grammar school. In 1966 his family moved back to his family home in the Wheeler Grove community where he worked alongside his grandfather and father to build up the family farm. David was a 1972 graduate of Kossuth High School where he played football for the Kossuth Aggies. When he graduated he began working for ITT where he met his loving wife Ginger and he gained two sons, Heath and Shane Barnett. Together David and Ginger purchased and rebuilt the Corinth Nursery and grew it into a reliable business that people could always depend on. David and his family worked tirelessly for years beautifying Corinth and the surrounding area. His love of animals never ceased after leaving home. David and Ginger had a farm of their own where they raised all kinds of livestock as pets. David never met a stranger and could have an enjoyable conversation with anyone he met. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Ginger Latch; two sons, Heath Barnett and Shane Barnett; four grandsons, Bearen Barnett, Brock Barnett, Kamden Barnett, and Beaux Barnett; his brother, Alan Latch (Lisa); a niece, Alisha Kelly (Philip); a nephew, Brian Latch (Catalina); several cousins and a host of friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bobby Lee and Mattie Bernice Latch; his paternal grandparents, Clinton and Mary Lucille Latch; and his maternal grandparents, Ronald Wilford and Bessie Irene Walker. A private memorial service will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Magnolia Funeral Home is honored to care for the family of David Latch.
