Diane Sims

A Celebration of Life service for Diane Sims, 72, is set for 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at Magnolia Funeral Home on HWY 72 East in Corinth, MS. Bro. Daniel Derrick will officiate the service with family honoring Diane as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until service time at Magnolia Funeral Home on HWY 72 East.

Diane was born in Gary, Indiana on March 30, 1954, to Marvin and Vela Austin Chamblee and passed away on October 16, 2026, in Corinth, MS, surrounded by her family.

Diane was a member of Oakland Baptist Church.

Throughout her life, Diane was a dedicated and hardworking woman. She spent many years working in her family’s business, Chamblee’s Carpet, and also worked as a cosmetologist.

Diane enjoyed flowers, watching birds, cheering on her favorite teams at sporting events, watching Christmas movies, and traveling with her family. Above all, she treasured the time spent surrounded by those she loved. Her greatest joy in life was being a mother and Nana. Nothing meant more to her than her family, and the love she had for them was at the heart of everything she did.

Diane will be remembered with love by those who knew her and shared in her life. She is survived by her daughter, Catrina Moore Smith (Denny); grandchildren, Trevor Moore Smith and Tayton Moore Smith(Leighia), and great-grandchild, Jack Moore Smith. Diane is also lovingly remembered by her brother, Michael Chamblee; sisters, Rhonda B. Baswell and Sondra Dowd; and half sister, Brenda Spencer. Others who were near and dear to her heart included Dr. Leonard Pratt, Ellen, Christy, Heather, Dyana, Ireland, Tiffany, Chad, Shelby, and Ronna.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 18 years, Jesse Sims; son, Charles Donavin Moore; parents, Marvin and Vela Austin Chamblee; sisters, Brenda Vandiver and Angela Rorie; half brother, Marvin Chamblee, Jr.; half sister, Gloria Hood, and the father of her children, Charles Moore.

Diane’s memory will be cherished by her family and all who had the blessing of knowing her.
