Dock Crum

Marvin "Dock" Crum passed away Thursday, June 30, 2011 at his residence at the age of 91. He was born February 14, 1920, He was a Security Guard at ITT and a Truck Driver. He was a U.S. Army Air Corp Veteran of WWII. He entered the service in January 1942 at Camp Shelby & was sent to Fort Lee, VA for basic training. After basic he was assigned to the 332nd Air Service Group in North Africa, there he was assigned to the 1110 Quarter master Air Service Group as a light truck driver. During WWII Mr. Crum served in North Africa, Sicily, Naples, Foggia, Rome, Arno, Southern France, North Apennines’, Rhineland & PO Valley. Among his decorations are: Good Conduct Medal, EAMETO Medal w/ 4 battle stars, European Campaign Medal w/ 2 battle stars & the WWII Victory Wreath. He was discharged in September 1945 after 3 years and 8 months of service. The 4th brigade, USAVR selected Mr. Crum as their Veteran of the month for the month of September & October 2003. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church He is survived by his Son: Larry Norman Crum & wife Donna – Corinth, MS 2 Grandchildren: Caroline Lancaster & Dawn Crum 3 Great Grandchildren: Emme Lancaster, Hannah Braddock, Brian Lancaster Brother: Floyd “Dudy” Crum & wife Dean – Walnut, MS Sister: Marie Cofield & husband Brice – Walnut, MS Brother-in-law: Paul Bright – Corinth, MS Sisters-in-law: Cheerful Bobo, Melba Talley, Angel McMahan, Joyce Crum & husband Johnny, Ann Martin – All of Corinth, MS Other Relatives and a host of friends Pallbearers: Jimmy Tate Waldon, Jerry Talley, James Talley, Robert Bright, Bengee Bright, Larry Bright, Glenn Miles, Ricky Crum, Marvin James Crum, Jerome Crum, Kimble Crum & Danny D.
