Donald Ray Downs

Donald Ray Downs,84, of Corinth, a respected Attorney at Law who dedicated over 55 years to his profession, passed away on April 15, 2024, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. He was born on October 27, 1939, in Glen, MS.

Donald's legal career was marked by integrity and a commitment to justice. He held a Juris Doctorate and served as a devoted member in the field of law for more than half a century. His contributions to the legal community will be remembered and cherished by all those whose lives he touched through his work.

Beyond his professional achievements, Donald cherished the moments spent with his grandchildren, creating lasting memories that will endure through generations. In his leisure time, he found solace in activities such as gardening, planting pecan trees, walking, and retreating to his cabin by the river.

Donald was a Veteran of the U. S. National Guard. 

Donald is survived by his children, Karen Cowart (Dick) and Kevin Downs (Tina). He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren Cameron Downs, Chandler Downs, Nick Cowart, Adam Price, Hilary Moss (Dakota), Luke Price, and Maria Price. Additionally, he is survived by stepchildren Wes Bowers (Jessica), Brad Nuckolls (LeeAnn), Angie Bowers Jett; his step grandchildren, Caroline Jett, Cooper Jett, Will Nuckolls, Jay Bowers, Bradley Hancock, Brandon Hancock and Brian Hancock., as well as his brother Earl Wayne Downs (Azzlee) and other relatives and a host of friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Downs; the mother of his children, Barbara Ann Downs; father, Otis Downs and mother, Giffie Sitton Downs. 

Donald Ray Downs' memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. His legacy of dedication to family and community stands as a testament to a life well-lived.

Services to honor and celebrate Donald's life will be held at Magnolia Funeral Home -EAST in Corinth on  Friday, April 19, 2024 at 2:00pn with interment in Indian Spring Cemetery in Glen.  A visitation will take place from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM  on Friday, April 19, 2024 at Magnolia Funeral Home - EAST. Rev. Nelson Hight will officiate the service. Dick Cowart will deliver the Eulogy. Pallbearers will be Cameron Downs, Chandler Downs, Nick Cowart, Adam Price, Luke Price and Dakota Moss.
