Doyle Eugene Watts, 90, of Corinth, MS passed away peacefully on January 24, 2026. Doyle was born in Winborn, MS on July 16, 1935. He graduated from Messick High School in Memphis, TN. He served in the Army and was stationed in Korea and Japan from 1954 to 1956. After his military service, he attended Mississippi State University and graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1960. After graduating, he began his career with ITT in Corinth, MS where he remained for 30 years. During his time there, he held various roles including Director of Engineering, a position that he held until his retirement in 1990. During his retirement years, he relaxed by playing golf with his buddies at Hillandale Country Club and participating in couples tournaments with his wife, Sarah, prior to her death in 1994. Doyle also obtained his real estate license and enjoyed working part time with Bill Strickland Real Estate Agency. Doyle traveled as often as possible to North Carolina and Florida to spend time with his children and grandchildren, and he and his special friend, Pat Emmons, always looked forward to the annual summer family trips to Clearwater, FL.
Doyle was a Scottish Rite and York Rite Mason. He was Past President of the Board of Directors of Corinth Theatre Arts and Past President of the Board of Directors of Hillandale Country Club. He was a member of Tate Street Baptist Church. In his younger years, he was an active member of East Corinth Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and Scout Master for Troop 23.
The youngest child of Ernest and Grace Watts, Doyle is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Sarah, and his sister, Ernestine Gravatt.
Doyle is survived by his son, James Watts and wife, Amy; daughter, Denise Dean and husband, Jeff; grandchildren Jeff Dean, Dana Dean, Daniel Dean and wife, Maggie; Justin Watts and Jake Watts; great-grandchildren, Margaret "Mae" Dean and William Dean; sister, MaryAnn Millican; and friend, Pat Emmons.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to management and staff of Dogwood Plantation, as well as the team members of Vital Hospice Care, for the extraordinary care that was provided to Doyle over the last two years.
A visitation will be held at Magnolia Funeral Home - SOUTH on February 8, 2026 from 1-2 pm. Funeral services will take place at Magnolia Funeral Home - SOUTH in Corinth, MS on February 8, 2026 at 2 pm officiated by Bro. Dale Gravatt. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes to honor Doyle's military service by requesting donations to the Wounded Warrior Project (www.woundedwarriorproject.org), PO Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.
