A Celebration of Life Service for Edward Franks, 83 of Savannah, TN, will be Monday, June 1, 2026 at 2:00 P M at Shady Grove Freewill Baptist Church with interment to follow at Lutts Cemetery in Lutts, TN. Bro. Carlos Hughes will officiate the service. Visitation will be Sunday, May 31, 2026 from 5:00 P M until service time Monday at Shady Grove Freewill Baptist Church in Olive Hill, TN. Mr. Franks passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at his residence. He was born November 16, 1942 in Waynesboro, TN to Clairce Walker Franks and Cora Lee Alma Grimes Franks. He served his country in the U S Army and was a member of Shady Grove Freewill Baptist Church in Savannah, TN. He retired from the TN State Forestry Division with 35 years of service.  Edward enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and watching westerns. He loved doing fish fries and camping. He is survived by his son, David Franks; his daughter, Paula Tacker (Ty); 4 grandchildren, Chasity Hamm (Greg), Brittany Angotti (Caleb), Zachary Tacker and Dexter Tacker (Jessie); 7 great grandchildren, Jayce Hamm, Cora Lee Angotti, Kasen Angotti, Rosie Tacker, Penelope Tacker, Nixon Tacker and Abbie Peay; his brother, Paul Franks (Gwen); several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Glenda Franks; his father, C.W. Franks; his mother Alma Grimes Franks; his brother, Robert Franks; his sisters, Virginia Melson and Becky Doyle. Pallbearers will be Stephen Franks, Randy Eddington, Nick Thompson, Richard Melson, Daniel Melson, Kenneth Franks and Danny Melson.
