Funeral services for Elbert Lee Null, 81 of Corinth are set for 11am Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at Wheeler Grove Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, December 1, 2025 from 5pm-7pm and Tuesday, December 2, 2025 from 10am until service time at Wheeler Grove Baptist Church. Bro. Josh Westmoreland, Bro. Byron Bonds and Abby Null Smith will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Eli Null, Micah Gifford, Greg Wilbanks, Ray Null, Rodney Andrews, Byron Bonds, Jason Gifford and Taylor Smith. Honorary Pallbearers will be Brad Bonds, Brian Bonds, Tommy Bonds, Ronnie Andrews, Reed Mitchell and Gary Mitchell.

Elbert Lee Null was born July 27, 1944 in Corinth, MS to Willie Lee Houston Null and Lillie Mae Mitchell Null. He grew up in Mathis Subdivision with his parents and his siblings Mattie “Faye” Null Wilbanks (Bobby) and Donald Ray Null (Carolyn). He attended Bell School.

Mr. Null met the love of his life Johnnie Ann Bonds when he was 18. They married on December 12th, 1963. Together, they built a home filled with love and had three children Jonna Marie Null (stillborn), John Anthony “Andy” Null, and Jana Leeann Null Gifford (Jason).

Mr. Null enjoyed hunting, fishing, mowing his lawn, running any type of machinery, listening to old Gospel music, and driving Mrs. Johnnie all over town. He loved watching wrestling and Ole Miss sports. Elbert never met a stranger. If he didn’t know you, he knew somebody who knew you. For the majority of his working life, Mr. Null farmed with his family. He also spent a significant amount of time employed for Buddy Ayers construction and the county supervisor.

Elbert Lee was known as “Mr. Fix It” among his family members. If you broke it, he could fix it. He kept a close eye on everyone’s vehicles from their tags to their windshield wipers always making sure everything was up to date and working correctly.

He kept an even closer eye on his family though and made his rounds calling each grandchild every Wednesday. He would usually say, “I was just calling to check on ya.” If they didn’t answer, he’d leave a message and say “call me back when you get a chance.” That’s how he was; he was compassionate and patient.

Some people’s lives are defined by earthly achievements, but Mr. Null’s life was defined by the love he had for his family. He had five grandchildren: Abby Null Smith, Lily Null, Jenna Huggins, Eli Null, and Micah Gifford and a grandson-in-law Taylor Smith who was like his own. His most recent joy was his first great grandchild Ollie Smith. He also loved each of his nieces, nephews, extended family, and an extra special “adopted into the family” kind of son Joakim Söderberg from Sweden.Elbert Lee would do anything for his family and loved them each unconditionally.
