Elizabeth "Liz" Cox

Mary Elizabeth “Liz” Storey Cox, 83, of Rienzi, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, June 19, 2022, surrounded by family. She was born November 20, 1938 to Walter and Prudence Storey of Pisgah, Mississippi. She and her husband, Loyd David “Bud” Cox made their home east of Rienzi where she was a devoted wife, mother, and mamaw. Mrs. Cox worked outside the home and was one of the first 25 employees hired by Kimberly-Clark, Corinth, where she was recognized with numerous promotions for her work and dedication. After her workday outside of the home ended, she would work alongside of her husband in their farming and timber business. Her husband was always quick to tell everyone his wife “Lizzy” worked side-by-side him from the moment they married and there was nothing she would not do to help him. What a wonderful journey they had.  Mrs. Cox was a member of the Antioch Primitive Baptist Church in Corinth, MS. She enjoyed fellowship with her elders and her church family. Mrs. Cox is survived by her children, David Cox of Cincinnati, Ohio; Lisa Cox Hull of Collinsville; Lloyd David “Junior” Cox (Lisa) of Rienzi; Jerry Cox (Carolyn) of Rienzi; grandchildren, Shannon Hyde (Todd), Trexler Hull, Shaye Stephenson (Jody), Jeremy Cox, Jon Cox, Baleigh Hull, and Anna Cummings (Wesley); and two great grandsons. She is proceeded in death by her husband of 63 years, Loyd David “Bud” Cox, parents, Walter and Prudence Storey, brother, Joseph Storey, sisters, Barbara Phillips and Charlene Horne, son-in-law, Steve Hull, and one great grandson. Services will be Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Magnolia Funeral Home South, 741 Hwy 45, Corinth. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at Magnolia Funeral Home South.
