Esther Mae Vuncannon

Funeral services for Esther Mae Vuncannon, 87 of Saltillo, MS are set for 2 pm on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at Magnolia Funeral Home - East Chapel with interment in Pleasant Hill Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 2, 2025 from 12pm-2pm at Magnolia Funeral Home- EAST. 

Born September 1938 in Corinth, MS., Mrs. Vuncannon departed this life on Thursday, November 27, 2025 in Saltillo, MS. She was a retired machine operator for Kimberly Clark and a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Kossuth. She loved her children and grandchildren. Esther was a devoted mother and grandmother and spending time with her family brought her immense joy. She enjoyed collecting jewelry and cooking. 

Those left to carry on Esther's memory include her sons, Mike Surratt (Kathy) and Sammy Smith; daughters, Teresa Jane Carpenter (Russ) and Paula Marie Tindle; 9 grandchildren, Tony Surratt, Dawn Surratt, Coty Lee Smith, Tracy Lashlund Jones, Tommy Howell (Amanda), Cassie Marie Henley, Paul Russell (Candi), Steve Horner (Kayla) and Brooke Milam (Jeff);  18 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; brother, Darryl Austin (Doris); numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. She is preceded in death by her daughters, Charlotte Ann Modlin and Sherra Lynn Smith; her parents, Wheeler and Nora Austin; and her brothers, David K. Austin, Vaudie Lee Austin and Gerald Austin. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Mrs. Esther Mae Vuncannon.
