Frances Crowder Lancaster

Frances Crowder Lancaster, 95, of Corinth, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at Cornerstone Rehabilitation Facility in Corinth. Born on June 11, 1931, in Town Creek, Alabama, Frances was the daughter of Arthur and Etta Crowder. Her family later moved to Chicago, Illinois, where she met her beloved husband, Kenneth Lancaster. Together, they built a life filled with love, family, and treasured friendships. They later made their home in Corinth, Mississippi.

Frances retired from a career in quality control at Garan Manufacturing. She attended Crossroads Church in Jumpertown and cherished her faith throughout her life. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with family and friends, working crossword puzzles, and reading her Bible daily until her eyesight no longer allowed her to do so. Above all, Frances loved her family. One of her greatest joys was being Nana—not only to her grandchildren, but also to the many friends who became part of her extended family. Her kindness, love, and welcoming spirit made everyone feel special.

Frances is survived by her daughter, Beth Anne Lancaster (Lloyd Dunn) of Corinth; her granddaughter, Kristin Ross Hubbard (Al Hubbard) of Starkville; and her two great-grandchildren, Ross Hubbard and Vaughn Hubbard. She is also survived by her brother, Doug Crowder (Melba Crowder) of Moulton, AL; her sister, Joyce Fishel of Miami, FL; her sister-in-law, Regetta Lancaster of Rienzi, MS; her brother-in-law, Curtis Matlock of Russellville, AL; along with extended family members, nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Lancaster; her parents, Arthur and Etta Crowder; her brother, Buddy Crowder; and her sisters, Kathryn Coley, Yvonne Matlock, and Jean Geno.

A celebration of Frances’s life will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at 11:30 AM at Magnolia Funeral Home South at 741 HWY 45 South with visitation from 10:00 AM until time of service. Services will be led by Cody Stephens. Burial will be in Magnolia Gardens on HWY 45 South.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105) or the Lighthouse Foundation of Corinth (1103 S Johns St, Corinth, MS 38834).

Frances leaves behind a beautiful legacy of faith, family, friendship, and love. Though she will be deeply missed, the memories she created and the lives she touched will remain a lasting reminder of a life well lived.

We are thankful for the compassionate nursing staff at Cornerstone and the dedicated nurses and doctors on the fifth floor of Magnolia Regional Health Center. We are especially thankful for the precious caregivers; Sandar Roach, Teresa Lambert, Estella Robinson, Nan Settlemires and Jill Roseberry. The kindness, thoughtfulness, and exceptional care brought comfort and peace to Nana and our entire family during such a difficult time. We will always be grateful for the love and compassion you showed us.
