Gary David Duncan

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gary David Duncan, 58, who departed this life on August 20, 2025, at the North MS Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. Born on March 22, 1967, in Corinth, MS, Gary was a dedicated truck driver, known for his strong work ethic and commitment to his profession. Gary had a deep-seated love for the outdoors, particularly enjoying fishing and hunting deer and turkeys, passions that brought him joy and allowed him to connect with nature. He also had a spirited competitive side, as evident in his love for shooting pool and drag racing. An esteemed member of the community, Gary was a Master Mason with Lodge #233, a testament to his dedication to service and brotherhood. His commitment to the principles of Masonry reflected his character and the values he held dear.  Gary is survived by his beloved parents, Rufus David Duncan, Jr. and Roberta Jackson Duncan. He leaves behind his son, Jonathan Tyler Duncan, who carries forward his father’s spirit and legacy. Gary's loved ones include his girlfriend, Shirley Essary, and he is fondly remembered by his nephew, Jason, and nieces, Kristen and Kelly. He shared a special bond with his cousins, Donna Chase (Donnie), Debra Morelock (Darrell), and Wanda Melton. Gary is also survived by his aunt, Shirley Mae Tutor, and his uncle, Larry Jackson. He is preceded in death by his sister, Tammy Duncan Nichols, whose memory remains alive in the hearts of all who knew her. In celebrating Gary's life, we remember a man who embodied a love for adventure, family, and community. His presence will be profoundly missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire all who were fortunate to have known him.  A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
