Grace Lehman DePoyster, age 91, of Corinth, MS, peacefully left this earthly home on May 23, 2026, surrounded by the love of her two daughters, to be reunited with her beloved husband, Billy, and to enter the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Born on February 26, 1935, in Lexington, MS, Grace devoted her life to her faith, family, and educating young minds. She spent many years as a beloved middle school English teacher, lovingly known to generations of students as “Ms. D.” Though she was firm and expected the best from her students, she cared deeply for each of them and left a lasting impact on countless lives. Her dedication to education earned her multiple recognitions, including Alcorn County Teacher of the Year for Excellence in Education in 1995.

Energetic and full of life, she enjoyed making lifelong friends wherever she went. She loved her family fiercely and found her greatest joy in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Uplifting and encouraging, she had a gift for making others feel welcomed, valued, and loved.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Debra DePoyster and Susan Timleck (Jimmy); grandchildren, Phillip Mauney, Matthew Mauney (Heather), Amy Grace Griffin, and Chris Griffin (Whitny); great-grandchildren, Mia Grace Griffin and Asher Griffin; her brother, Vernon Lehman; sisters-in-law, Reba DePoyster and Patricia Nachbar; and a host of extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Billy DePoyster; her parents, Christopher and Maggie Lehman; her brothers, Cecil Lehman, Ray Lehman, Willie Lehman, and Bruce Stone; her sisters, Pauline Screws, Juanita Smith, Naomi Davis, and Evelyn Lehman; as well as many other beloved family members and loved ones who have gone on before.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Magnolia Funeral Home – South located at 741 HWY 45 South in Corinth, MS, on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., with visitation beginning at 12:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be in Indian Springs Methodist Church Cemetery. Bro. Warren Jones, Phillip Mauney and Dr. Leonard Pratt will officiate the service. In Lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.

Pallbearers will be Phillip Mauney, Matthew Mauney, Chris Griffin, Chris Lehman, Jack Dilworth, and Jimmy Timleck.

The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to the staff of Dogwood Assisted Living and StoneRidge Assisted Living for the many years of love and support shown to Grace, and to Magnolia Hospice for the compassion, comfort, and care provided during her final days. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Mrs. Grace Lehman DePoyster.
