Ilene Yager

Funeral services for Ilene Yager, 83 of Corinth are set for Monday, August 18, 2025 at 2pm at Magnolia Funeral Home- East Chapel with interment in Dogwood Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday, August 18, 2025 from 12pm-2pm at Magnolia Funeral Home - East Chapel.  Dr. Randy Bostick will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Deric Smith, Weston Yager, Stephen Yager, Brentton Yager, Jake Arnold, Adam Norvell and Isaac Yager. 

Ilene Nelson Yager was born on December 1, 1941, in Saulsbury, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2025, in Corinth, Mississippi. A homemaker at heart, Ilene devoted her life to nurturing her family, creating a sanctuary of love and warmth that served as the foundation of her world. To her, caring for her loved ones was not just a responsibility; it was a cherished purpose. Ilene found joy and solace in the simple pleasures of life, tending to her beloved rose garden and baking with the utmost dedication. She proudly served  as the librarian at Oakland Baptist Church. She was part of the first Mother's Day Out program at the church. Her contributions to her church and community were full of compassion, enriching the lives of many and reflecting her dedication to serve. Ilene will always be remembered as a beacon of strength and kindness, a true matriarch whose laughter and love resonated in the hearts of all who knew her. Her unwavering faith and gentle spirit were a guiding light, exemplifying the virtues of love, community, and dedication.

Those left to cherish Ilene's memory include her husband of 65 years, Claude Yager; daughter, Cindy Arnold (Scotty); sons, Miles Yager (Windy), John Yager (Shannon) and Deric Smith (Katniss Paterone); 15 grandchildren, Ellice Yager, Weston Yager, Lane Ross (Gracie), Rainey Burress (Chapman), Amanda Arnold, Katey Norvell (Adam), Jacob Arnold, Cassidy Arnold, Taylor Lowrey, Stephen Yager, Brentton Yager, Isaac Yager, Cain Gartman, Sadie Smith and Robbie Paterone; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. She is preceded in death by her son, Elliston Yager; father, Clester Nelson; mother, Rose Ethel Nelson; brother, Hugh Nelson; sisters, Mae Miles, Dean Crum and Wilma Hodge. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Mrs. Ilene Nelson Yager.
