James Wesley Mincy

Funeral services for James Wesley Mincy, 87 of Corinth are set for Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at 11:30 am at Magnolia Funeral Home – EAST  with Military Honors and interment in Corinth National Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 22, 2022 from 5pm-8pm and Wednesday, February 23, 2022 from 10:30am until service time. John Stevens will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Iver Vandiver, Gary Walden, Chris Porterfield, Sean Shaalan, John Cornelius and Travis Cornelius. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of Strickland Church of Christ. Born June 30, 1934 in Corinth, MS.; James passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at MS Care Center in Corinth. He went to school at Farmington and Glendale. He joined the Army in 1952 where he spent 21 years , serving in Korea, Germany and Vietnam. He retired from Red Stone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL as SSGT. After retiring he worked at several different places including Dana, Refreshments. Inc., Halls, Kimberly Clark and Senator Coaches but he is mainly known as a painter all over this area. James is a member of Strickland Church of Christ. James is survived by his sons, Perry Neal Mincy (Mary Kay) and Charles Wesley Mincy (Michelle); grandchildren, Ashley Mincy, Shelby Mincy, Miranda Jablonski (Jeremy) , Charles Mincy, Samuel Mincy, Gregory Cox, Nathaniel Cox and Brayden Cox; great grandson, Charles Anthony Mincy;  brother, John W. Mincy (Katherine); sisters, Joanne Hindmon, Faye Shaalan, Gail Stables, Doris Holder and Beverly Wolfe-Bociek (Bob); numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mattie B. Vandiver Mincy; father, James Roy Mincy; mother, Mattie Francis Woods Mincy and his sister, Marlene Phifer. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be to the Alzheimer’s Foundation or the Youth Group of Strickland Church of Christ.
