Janie Sue Gant, 88, of Corinth, MS, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 20, 2026, in Biggersville, MS. She was born on March 5, 1938, to the late Dupree and Lucille (Ross) Barker. Visitation will be Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 12pm-2pm at Wheeler Grove Baptist Church.  Funeral services will be Thursday, July 23, 2026, at 2pm  at Wheeler Grove Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery. Bro. Cory Holley, Bro. Josh Westmoreland and Bro. Kara Blackard will be officiating the services. There will be no graveside services.

Mrs. Gant was a devoted home maker and wife to her husband, Bill for 61 years. She was a graduate of Corinth High School and a lifelong member of Wheeler Grove Baptist Church where she lived a life defined by a deep, unwavering faith, reflecting the love and grace of Jesus. Some knew her as sweet little Nannie, while others knew she had a feisty side like none other.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Tammy Morton and husband Carroll and sister, Beverly Barker Morton. Her grandchildren, Memphiss Gant, Putter Hamlin and wife Brooke, Sasha Moore, Adrian Gant, Emily Stacy, Kristen Harmon and husband Tim, Katie Beth Burress and husband Tanner; great grandchildren, Mackenzie Long and husband Jake, Morgan Hamlin and fiancée Will Jolly, Morgan Null, Walt Harmon, Ila Claire Harmon and Cindy Kay Burress.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Gant; sons, Billy Kenyon Gant and James Moses Gant; brothers, Jimmy, Adron, and Stanley Barker; sister, Jackie Nelms; grandchildren, Tyler Hamlin, Josh Gant and Zac Gant also a son-in-law, Putt Hamlin.

Pallbearers will be Putter Hamlin, Dewey Mincey, Memphiss Gant, Tim Harmon, Tanner Burress, and Adrian Gant.
