John Eldred Little, age 61, passed away on April 18, 2026, in Nashville, Tennessee. He was born on May 14, 1964, in North Little Rock, Arkansas, to Travis and Doris Little, originally of Alcorn County. At the age of 2, he and his parents relocated back to Corinth, MS, after Travis completed his service in the U.S. Air Force.
A 1982 graduate of Alcorn Central High School, John was a standout athlete whose passion for tennis defined much of his life. He played competitively at both Northeast Junior College and the University of North Alabama. Throughout his life, whether he was playing tournaments or traveling to watch the world’s best players, his love for the game never wavered.
John built a successful career in sales that began in the Memphis, TN, area and continued when he relocated to Franklin, TN, working for Sysco Guest Supply and later American Paper and Twine. His dedication and talent were recognized with several prestigious awards.
John attended People’s Church in Nashville.
He is survived by his parents, Senator Travis and Doris Little of Corinth, MS; his twin sisters, Regina Hagan (Todd) of Corinth, MS, and Laura Cooley (Kevin) of Chattanooga, TN; his nieces and nephew, Caroline Gillentine (Jordan) of Starkville, MS, Olivia Mitchell (Drew) of Corinth, MS, Cade Hagan (Ashlee) of Corinth, MS, and Faith Hagan, of Baldwyn, MS. He also has five grand-nieces and grand-nephews. John’s faithful companion was his beloved dog, Rocco.
A Celebration of Life will be held by the family in a private ceremony. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
To know John was to love his boyish charm and infectious laugh! John was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by many friends and family.
