Joyce Brewer Phillips

A Celebration of Life service for Joyce Brewer Phillips, 93 of Memphis, TN, will be Saturday, July 11, 2020 at 11:00 A M at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with interment to follow at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastor David Smith will officiate the service. Visitation will be Saturday, July 11, 2020 from 10:30 A M until service time at Magnolia Funeral Home. Mrs. Phillips passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at Pointe of Kirby Gates in Memphis, TN. She was born October 15, 1926 in Cotton Plant, LA to Arthur Lee Brewer, Sr. and Hattie Joyce Brewer. She was the owner of H.B. Phillips, Inc. and was a member of Germantown Baptist Church. She was a huge University of Memphis Tiger Men's Basketball fan. She enjoyed going to the casino, bowling and traveling. She loved delivering Meals on Wheels and going to the beach. Joyce is survived by her husband of 73 years, Bradley Phillips of Hernando, MS; her son, Larry Phillips and wife Mary of Germantown, TN; her daughter, Cathy Coats and husband James of Marion, AR; three grandchildren, Brian Wirges (Kristen) Beth Jones(Tommy) and Brad Phillips (Kristin); eight great-grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Lee Brewer, Sr.; her mother, Hattie Joyce Brewer and her brothers, Arthur Lee Brewer, Jr. and James William Brewer. Pallbearers will be Billy LeDoux and James Coats. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Association or to a favorite charity in her name.
