Mrs. Tennyson passed away peacefully on October 16, 2025, in Corinth, Mississippi, surrounded by her daughter, brother, and nieces. Her family takes comfort in knowing she was listening with joy as they reminisced about childhood memories and beloved family stories.
Born and raised in Kossuth, Mississippi, Judy graduated from Kossuth High School in 1965, where she was honored to be elected Homecoming Queen her senior year. She cherished the friendships formed during those years and remained close with her classmates throughout her life—most recently helping to plan and decorate for their 60th class reunion.
On August 6, 1981, Judy married the love of her life, Maury Tennyson. Together they built a fun-filled, loving life in Munford, Tennessee, filled with laughter, friendship, and family.
Outside of work, Judy enjoyed collecting dolls and lovingly sewing clothes for them. She also had a deep passion for ballroom dancing and was known as an elegant and graceful dancer.
Judy is survived by her daughter, Angela Toll (Dennis); her grandson, Matthew Owens (Sami Jo Kellly); two great grandchildren, Sadie Kate and Laila Jo; her brother, Donnie Shadburn; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 19 years, Maury Tennyson; her father, Vard Shadburn; her mother, Velma Kuykendall Shadburn; her brothers, Vernon Shadburn, Cary Shadburn and Joe Shadburn; her sisters, Freida Gurley, Betty Brock and Mary Bullard and her beloved dog, Chloe Mae.
Judy will be remembered as a wonderful mother, “Meme,” sister, aunt, and dear friend to so many. Her warmth, creativity, and joyful spirit touched every life she encountered, and her memory will be cherished always.
