Linda Downs

Linda Downs, 75, of Glen, MS passed away at Magnolia Regional Health Center on Saturday, September 25, 2021. She was born in Memphis, TN on May 2, 1946 to the late Jewell and Elsie White Jefferson, graduated from Hernando High School in 1964, and served as office manager for Donald Ray Downs Law Firm. Linda was a member of The Bridge of Burnsville and had a passion for service and leadership in the Bridge House, Celebrate Recovery, and jail ministries. She had an unwavering commitment to helping those who struggle in addiction and recovery. She loved her grandchildren and children fearlessly and unconditionally, and always shared her love of baking, cooking, and hospitality with so many. She will be remembered most for her unwavering compassion, dedication, and love for all things people. She will be forever missed, loved, and cherished by us all. Magnolia Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 pm Tuesday, September 28, 2021and 12-2 pm Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at Magnolia Funeral Home East. A Celebration of Linda’s life will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at Magnolia Funeral Home East Chapel officiated by Bro. Jason Roberts and Bro. James Rich. A private family only committal will follow in Indian Springs Cemetery. Those left to honor Linda’s memory include her husband, Donald Ray Downs; her children, Wes Bowers (Jessica), Angie Bowers Jett (Rob), and Brad Nuckolls (LeeAnn); her stepchildren, Karen Cowart (Dick) and Kevin Downs (Tina); her grandchildren, Caroline Jett, Cooper Jett, Will Nuckolls, Jay Bowers, Bradley Hancock, Brandon Hancock, Brian Hancock, Nick Cowart, Cameron Downs, and Chandler Downs; her sister, Diane Tomlinson (Mike); other relatives and a host of friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Kenny Jefferson.
