Listen to Obituary

Linda Odle, 82, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished member of the Corinth community, passed away on April 22, 2026, at her residence in Corinth, Mississippi. Born on May 4, 1943, Linda's life was marked by an unwavering devotion to her family and faith, and she leaves behind a legacy of love and commitment that touched all who knew her.

Linda and her husband shared a remarkable partnership, having owned Ole Smokey BBQ for over ten years, where their dedication and hard work were well known. Many will remember Linda as the devoted director at Kids World Daycare, a role in which her compassionate nature and boundless energy made a lasting impact on countless young lives.

Family was the cornerstone of Linda’s existence, and she took immense pride in her roles as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her proudest accomplishments were centered on these relationships, and she was a charter member of Central Baptist Church, where she enriched the congregation’s worship by singing in the choir. Linda’s faith and fellowship were integral parts of her life until the very end.

Those fortunate enough to know Linda will recall her extraordinary culinary talents—she was renowned as the greatest cook of chicken and dumplings, cornbread, black-eyed peas, mashed potatoes, and bacon. Her grandchildren particularly treasured her as a professional UNO player and source of joyous game nights. Above all, Linda embodied the sentiment that nothing was more important than family.

Linda is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Wayne Odle; sons Kenneth Odle, David Odle and his wife Rebecca, and Stephen Odle; grandchildren Brooke Walker and her husband Zack, and D.J. Odle; as well as great-grandchild Conrad Walker. She is also remembered by her siblings Charlie McDaniel and his wife Peggy, Marilyn Duncan, and sister-in-law Gwyn Russell and her husband BW. The family cherishes these bonds that continue to honor Linda’s memory.

Linda was preceded in death by her infant son Kevin Odle; her parents Elbert and Bonnie McDaniel; brothers Bobby McDaniel with his wife Sue, and Terry McDaniel with his wife Janice; and by her brothers-in-law Greg Duncan and sister-in-law Diane Mullins.

Services to honor Linda’s life will be held at Central Baptist Church, located at 241 Co Rd 218, Corinth, MS 38834, on Saturday, April 25, 2026. Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Bro. Donnie Davis will lead the service, with Bro. Matt Alred reading the obituary. Her presence will be deeply missed but forever cherished.
