Lonetta Norman Smith, 74, unexpectedly passed away on October 21, 2023 in Walnut, MS. She was born on July 30, 1949, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Amel Norman Sr. & Lois Pruitt Norman. Lonetta spent her formative years in Memphis and graduated from Humes High School in 1968. It was during her early years that her artistic abilities began to shine. Lonetta's dedication to perfecting her craft was evident even at a young age. Her talent touched the lives of many who were lucky enough to view or own one of her pieces of art.  After completing her education, Lonetta met the love of her life, Dennis Smith. Their deep connection blossomed into a loving marriage that spanned decades. Dennis was truly the rock upon which she built her life. Lonetta leaves behind a legacy that will be cherished by those who loved her. She is survived by her daughter, Lesley Von Seggen; her grandchildren, Dylan Smith, Dalton Smith, Madison Haynes, Koen Von Seggen, and Lark Von Seggen; her great grandchildren, Oliver and Rylan; her sister, Linda Learned; and her daughter-in-law, Crystal Smith-Ross. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dennis Smith; her son Dwayne Wray Smith; her parents, Amel Norman Sr. & Lois Pruitt Norman; her brother, Amel Norman Jr.; her sister, Dorothy Picheloupe; and her great grandchild, Lochlan. Lonetta will be forever remembered for her incredible talent as an artist and her love for her family. In honor of Lonetta's memory, her family requests that any donations be made to an art charity of your choice. This will ensure that her love for art continues to inspire and uplift others for years to come.
