Lonita was born on March 23, 1950 in Lindsay, CA to Milton and Louis Lindsey and passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2025 in Germantown, TN. In 1958, she moved to Mississippi with her family, where she would build a life rooted in love, hard work, and deep connection to those around her. She loved the outdoors and had a special bond with animals—so much so that animals seemed naturally drawn to her. Whether it was wildlife or a beloved pet, she had a gentle presence that made every creature feel safe. Her granddaughters were her pride and joy, the light of her life, and she poured her heart into being their Nana. Family meant everything to her, and she would do anything for those she loved. She was an extremely hard worker who found purpose and joy in her work. Her Walmart family was very dear to her, and she was truly the heart of her store—known, respected, and loved by coworkers and customers alike for the last twenty-eight years.
Those left to honor her are her daughter, April Holley (Cory); granddaughters, Macadyn Holley and Palin Holley; brothers, Johnnie Lindsey (Esther), Danny Lindsey (Barbara), and Wayne Lindsey (Bonnie); sister, Annette Tucker (Greg); other relatives and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Donne Lee Lindsey, Eddie Lindsey, and Milton Charles Lindsey.
She will be remembered as a beloved mother, Nana, sister, and aunt whose strength, kindness, and unwavering love left a lasting mark on all who knew her. Her legacy lives on through the family she cherished, the lives she touched, and the love she gave so freely. Magnolia Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Lonita Lindsey.
