Marshia Dawn Grimes, 63 of Corinth, formerly of Rantoul, IL. passed from this life on Friday, December 6, 2024 at her home in Corinth, MS. No services are planned at this time. Mrs. Grimes was born April 8, 1961 in Urbana, Il to the late Bill Slade and the late Janet Collins. She was a homemaker and committed supporter of the American Legion in Rantoul, IL. and the Eagles in Champaign, IL. Marshia helped with lots of community service projects in Rantoul and Champaign, Il. Her favorite pastime was playing Bingo. Marshia is survived by her husband of 33 years, Jerry Grimes; son, Matthew Grimes (Carlyn); daughters, Amanda Herrington (Adrian) and Brenda Staley (Davy); 8 grandchildren, Brittany Chavez (Johnathan), Domenic Herrington, Mercedes Staley (Fernando), Brianna Herrington, Jordan Herrington (Ashlee), Charlie Staley (Maddie), Cameron Grimes and Gavin Grimes; 3 great grandchildren, Carolina Chavez, Javier Chavez, Zayd Herrington and 2 on the way; brother, Billy Slade (Rose); sister, Annie Stanley (Dave); other relatives and a host of friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Bill Slade; mother, Janet Price; brother, Melvin Slade and sister Judy Fitton.
