With gratitude for the gospel of Jesus Christ, the family of Martha Louise Rozier Harland celebrates the life and legacy of our matriarch who now is worshiping in the presence of the Lord. She passed from this life into eternity on July 19, 2025. Her impact and influence as a friend, daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother will be felt for all of eternity.
Martha was born in Cleveland, MS, on April 6, 1937, to J V and Wilma Rozier. She placed her faith in Jesus as her Savior when she was a young person and faithfully lived out that relationship with the Lord her entire life. In addition to leading her own family, Martha sang in choirs, taught Sunday School, went on mission trips, rocked any babies she could, and mentored many people in their faith as she served at Oakland Baptist Church. Additionally, her family would testify that her love, encouragement, and constant prayer support forever shaped all their lives and work.
Over the course of her life, Martha worked in several Corinth businesses, most notably Fred Vann Insurance Agency and Patrick Home Center. After retirement, she enjoyed keeping small children and encouraging young families.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents, and her three siblings: David Rozier, Robert Rozier and Eva Campbell. Martha is survived by her husband of 70 years, Wiley Harland, her children, Eva Kirk (Ray), of Corinth, MS, Bill Harland (Linda), of Corinth, MS, and Mike Harland (Teresa) of Columbia, Tennessee. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, multiple nieces and nephews, a host of friends, as well as fellow Oakland church members who all enjoyed Martha’s contagious joy for life.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 PM on Monday, July 21, 2025 at Magnolia Funeral Home – East and from 10 AM till service time at 11 AM on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at Oakland Baptist Church. Rev. Ray Kirk, Rev. Reid Kirk, Rev. Mike Harland, Dr. Randy Bostick, and Rev. John Harland will officiate during the service. Interment will follow in Dogwood Cemetery. Pallbearers include Jonathan Kirk, Thomas Willis, Lee Harland, Brandon Quinn, James Quinn, Aiden Kirk, Hayden Quinn, and Will Kay.
The family would like to express gratitude to the staff of Dogwood Manor and Gentiva Hospice who cared for her with tender compassion in these last days. We further request that those who wish to honor her with memorials do so by giving through Oakland Baptist Church to The Home of El Roi, Samaritan’s Purse, or other OBC ministries. Magnolia Funeral Home is honored to care for the family of Martha Louise Rozier Harland.
