Memorial services for Mary Louise Strickland Riddell, 79, of Corinth, will be held Saturday, January 31, 2026, at First Baptist Church in Corinth; the service will be at 2PM with visitation prior to the service from 12PM – 2PM.
Mary was born on August 1, 1946, in Corinth, and she passed away peacefully on January 14, 2026, at MD Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas, with family at her side. Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Ned Riddell, her father, Allen Strickland, and her mother, Bernice Strickland. Mary is survived by her two sons, Jonathan of Corinth and Randy (Amy) of Killen, Alabama; two grandchildren, Marlie of Pensacola, Florida, and Lacee of Starkville; and her sister, Ann Patrick (Bob) of Corinth.
Mary loved cooking, camping, and playing cards; she enjoyed social gatherings and traveling with family and friends. Mary found great joy in the one-on-one conversations with her grandchildren and loved watching them grow and mature into young ladies. Mary enjoyed singing in the choir at First Baptist Church; her church family was very special to her. Mary spent most of her working career at the USDA Rural Development office in Booneville, MS, where she made life-long friends she cherished very much. Mary made lasting friendships with almost everyone she met; she still met regularly with friends she had made in the 1st grade. Mary’s quiet strength, love, and protection were easily felt by all; she loved all. In lieu of flowers, the family would ask for donations to be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
