Maury Avon Grissom, Jr.,62, passed away on January 21, 2026. He was born on March 8, 1963, in Corinth to the late Maury Avon Grissom, Sr. and Norma Jones Grissom. He spent his life devoted to his family and his work. For 15 years, Maury was a dedicated millwright at PCA in Counce, Tennessee, where his commitment and hard work were well known and appreciated. Maury was a man who cherished his family deeply. He was proud to be a Poppop and Pawpaw, and he particularly enjoyed spending his Saturdays with his grandchildren, creating lasting memories that would be cherished for years to come. His love for family extended to all his loved ones, and he will be remembered for his unwavering support and devotion. Beyond his family, Maury had a passion for riding Harley Davidson motorcycles. He enjoyed both short trips and long excursions, always taking the scenic route wherever his journeys led him. This love of adventure was a significant aspect of his life, symbolizing his free spirit and zest for life.
Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, January 27, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and Wednesday, January 28, 2026, from 1:00 PM until service time at Magnolia Funeral Home South, located at 741 Hwy US-45, Corinth, MS. A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at 2:00 PM officiated by Bro. Floyd Lamb. Interment will follow in Magnolia Gardens. Pallbearers include Dave Frost, Ray Sanders, Todd Strachan, Benson Skelton, Riley Lancaster, Willie Holder, and honorary pallbearers David "Mug" Frost and Barry Barnett.
Maury is survived by his son, Maury Avon Grissom, III "Trey" and wife Olivia; his life partner, Linda Williams; his sister, Peggy Winters and husband Russ; his daughter, Alishia Williams; and his grandchildren, Iris Ivy Grissom, Violet Kaye Grissom, Sydney McCoy, and Kreed McCoy. He also leaves behind a great-grandchild, Keaton McCoy, and another one on the way. He is preceded in death by his parents, Maury Avon Grissom, Sr. and Norma Jones Grissom
Maury Avon Grissom, Jr. will be remembered as a loving family man, a diligent worker, and an adventurous spirit who left a positive mark on all who knew him.
