Funeral services with Fireman Honors for Nicholas "Nick" Stephen Mathis, 43 of Corinth are set Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at 2pm at Magnolia Funeral Home - South Chapel located at 741 HWY 45 South. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 30, 2025 from 5pm-8pm and Wednesday, December 31, 2025 from 12pm-2pm at Magnolia Funeral Home - South Chapel. Bro. Mike Lee will officiate the service with Lane Carroll delivering the eulogy and Evan Gibens will deliver a message from the Fire Department. Pallbearers will be Freddy Mathis, Ken Talley, Lane Carroll, John Ross, Jonathan Hearn and Kevan Hall. Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Mullins and all firefighters. Born February 14, 1982 in Corinth, MS., Nick peacefully transitioned from this life on December 24, 2025 at his home in Corinth. He was an assembler at Caterpillar and a Firefighter for Southwest Volunteer Fire Department.  Nick loved spending time with his family especially his sons, hunting and fishing with them brought him immense joy. He enjoyed going to the beach, helping others and spending time working on his hobbies as he called them. Nick was a people person and never met a stranger. He loved being a firefighter for Southwest Volunteer Fire Department. Nick is survived by his sons, Hunter Mathis and Jackson Mathis; mother, Patsy Mathis; father, Billy Mathis (Mary); brothers, Shane Mathis and Chris Mathis (Brittany); maternal grandmother, Juanita Mullins; cousin, who was like a sister, Whitney Hearn; nieces and nephews, Gracie Johnson (Chase), Emma Mathis, Madi Bingham, Nathan Mathis and KeLynn Morphis; other relatives and a host of friends. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Kaylee Brooke Mathis; mother of his children, Jennifer Ross; paternal grandparents, Gladys and Annie Dee Mathis and maternal grandfather, Leon Mullins. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Mr. Nicholas "Nick" Stephen Mathis.
