Omer Lee Dixon, Sr.,76 of Booneville, Mississippi, passed away on April 8, 2026. Born on November 6, 1949, in Corinth, Mississippi, Omer lived a life marked by determination, commitment, and an enduring love for his family.

Throughout his life, Omer exhibited an unwavering resolve; when he set his mind to something, he accomplished it with steadfast dedication. This characteristic served him well both in his military career and his professional life as a truck driver.

Omer honorably served in the United States Army  dedicating 11 years, 10 months, and 51 days to his country. Attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant (SSG) E6, he served with distinction in multiple roles, including military police, ammunition specialist, and subsistence supply specialist. 

After his military service, Omer pursued a career as an over-the-road truck driver, a profession that allowed him to satisfy his passion for travel and the open road. He particularly enjoyed journeys out west. 

Omer’s personal interests were varied and vibrant. He delighted in shooting guns and had a keen enthusiasm for shopping for cars. Above all, he treasured the time spent with his children and grandchildren, for whom he was a loving and supportive presence.

He is survived by his sons, OJ Dixon (Sandy) and Zack Dixon (Angela); daughters, April Dixon (Sheila) and Amanda Smith (Don); 32 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends

Omer was preceded in death by his father, Aaron Dixon; mother, Zodie Dixon; and wife of 20 years, Kathy Terry.
