Orville Scott

A Celebration Life service for Orville Scott will be Monday, January 29, 2024 at 11:00 A M at Magnolia Funeral Home – East Chapel with interment to follow in Henry Cemetery.  Bro. Dennis Smith will officiate the service.  Visitation will be Sunday, January 28, 2024 from 5:00 P M and 7:00 P M and Monday, January 29, 2024 from 10:00 A M until service time at Magnolia Funeral Home – East.  Mr. Scott passed away Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Tishomingo Manor.  He was born March 7, 1933 in Iuka, MS to Adrian Scott and Blanche Cutshall Scott.  He retired after 50 years of service as the purchasing agent at ITT.  He was a member of Glendale Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing, listening to bluegrass music and going to Picking on the Square.  He was very generous to everyone and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Orville is survived by his daughters, Tammy Shadburn (Junior) and Jackie Holt (Demmy); 4 grandchildren, Heather Blackburn (Billy), Jay Shadburn (Nikki), Hannah Jones (Zach) and Sam Holt (Katie Pounds); 5 great grandchildren, Nolie Baulch-Shadburn, Ellie Shadburn, Noah Shadburn, Della Jones and Eve Jones; his sister, Martha Lamb; his sister-in-law, Lula Rast; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.   He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Faye Scott; his father, Adrian Scott; his mother, Blanche Cutshall Scott and his sister, Thurla Newton.  Pallbearers will be Jay Shadburn, Sam Holt, Billy Blackburn and Zach Jones.  Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Mr. Orville Scott.
