11:00 am - 1:00 pm (Central time)
There will be a gathering for family and friends for Patricia E. Dillingham, 66, of Glen, MS on Saturday, August 15, 2026, from 11am -1pm at Strickland Church of Christ.
Patricia, a beloved wife, devoted church member, and cherished friend, passed away on August 11, 2026, after an extended illness at University Methodist Hospital in Memphis, TN. Born on April 12, 1960, in Chicago, IL, she was the treasured daughter of the late James and Evelyn Burcham Gaines. Patricia's life was a testament to love, kindness, and unwavering faith. Patricia's early years were spent in a loving home, supported by her parents and grandparents, Roy and Vera Burcham and Roy and Mammie Gaines, who predeceased her. Her aunts, Fay Rose (J.W.), Shannon Burcham, Faye Burcham (Alton), and Willie Grisson (Gerald), as well as her uncles, John Gaines (Nell) and Ray Gaines, also preceded her in passing. Despite these losses, Patricia found strength in her family and faith.
In 1978, Patricia graduated from Alcorn Central High School. Her passion for nurturing young minds led her to earn an Associate of Arts degree in Early Childcare and Development from Northeast Community College. Patricia dedicated her professional life to the service of children, retiring as a secretary from Pine Vale Children's Home, where her compassionate spirit touched countless lives. For half a century, Patricia was an active member of Strickland Church of Christ. Her dedication to teaching the PreK and Kindergarten children every Sunday and Wednesday was a testament to her commitment to her faith and community. Her warmth and generosity extended beyond the church walls as she actively engaged in activities that brought joy to others. Patricia's love for her family and friends was evident in every aspect of her life. She treasured the moments spent with them, whether it was caring for her beloved dogs or reminiscing about her younger days riding horses. The holiday seasons, especially Christmas and Thanksgiving, held special meaning for her as she found immense joy in giving to others. Her love for shopping was only matched by her dedication to her church.
Patricia is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Stan Dillingham, who stood by her side through life's journey. She also leaves behind her dear aunt, Barbara Fay Gaines, her uncle, Jerry Burcham, and her brother-in-law, Brad Dillingham, and several cousins, other relatives and a host of friends, who all share in the profound loss of her presence. The family kindly requests that no flowers be sent, and instead, donations in her memory be made to Pine Vale Children's Home, an organization close to Patricia's heart. Patricia E. Dillingham's legacy of love, faith, and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Mrs. Particia E. Dillingham.
