Funeral services for Peggy Bowers Vanderford, 79, of Corinth are set for Thursday, February 15, 2024 at 11am at Magnolia Funeral Home - EAST with interment in Magnolia Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday, February 15, 2024 from 10am - 11am at Magnolia Funeral Home - EAST. Bro. Chris Klingenfus, Margaret Anne Orr and Bro. Warren Jones will officiate the service. Born September 7, 1944 in Corinth, MS., Peggy passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024 at Dogwood Assisted Living in Corinth. She was a member of Gaines Chapel Methodist Church . Peggy was a retired teller at Commerce National Bank where she worked for 55 years. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them especially her pride and joy, her granddaughter. She also enjoyed eating fish at Joe's Diner, playing solitaire, watching Wheel of Fortune and taking care of others. Peggy is survived by her daughter, Jamie Leigh Vanderford; son, Dr. Robert Stanley Burcham and wife Dr. Rebecca; granddaughter, Presleigh Jade Spence; sister, Margaret Anne Orr and husband Jim; nephews and niece, Jimmy Orr, John David Orr and Laura Wells Perry; a large extended family and a host of friends. She is preceded in death by her father, John H. Bowers; mother, Beatrice Dilworth Bowers; sister, Geraldine Wells and her special friend, James Ray Franks.
