Randy "Rooster" Wood

A Celebration of Life service for Randy “Rooster” Wood, 64 of Michie, TN, will be Monday, July 8, 2024 at 2:00 P M at Childers Hill Pentecostal Church with interment to follow at Oak Hill Christian Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, July 7, 2024 from 5:00 P M to 8:00 P M and Monday, July 8, 2024 from 12:00 P M until service time at Childers Hill Pentecostal Church. Bro. Rex McGee and Bro. Frank Williams will officiate the service. Mr. Wood passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, TN. He was born September 15, 1959 in Iuka, MS to Jimmy Wood and Pauline Johnson Wood. He was employed by Caterpillar and was a member of Childers Hill Pentecostal Church. He loved metal detecting, riding to the bottom, and fishing. He was always a jokester and everybody knew him by the nickname “Rooster”. Randy is survived his wife of 45 years, Theresa G. Wood; his son, Derek Wood; his daughter, Angela Gilliam (William); 9 grandchildren, Jace Gilliam, Kalyn Gilliam, Aleia Gilliam, Adalei Gilliam, Zeke Gilliam, Emma Wood, Harper Wood, Judson Wood and Myra Wood; his sisters, Barbara Norris (Mike Segars) and Tammy Wood (Jackie Davis); his aunts, Lovie Dean Davis and Margie Rickman; other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Wood; his mother, Pauline Johnson Wood and his brothers, Paul Wood and Tim Wood. Pallbearers will be Jace Gilliam, Daniel Fowler, Michael Campbell, William Gilliam, Jeff Gahagan, Marty Childers and Mike Childers. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Mr. Randy “Rooster” Wood.
