Rex Major Long

A Celebration of life memorial service for Rex Major Long, Jr., 70 of Iuka is set for Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at 2:00pm at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 19, 2020 from 12:00 PM until service time at Magnolia Funeral Home. Born April 7, 1949 in Memphis, TN, Rex passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at his home in Iuka, MS. He was a retired mechanical engineer for Norfolk Southern Railway. Rex loved his family and friends and enjoyed playing the organ and guitar, writing songs and an occasional book, target shooting and fishing. He is survived by his daughter, Gena Vinson of Iuka; companion, Carolyn Null of Iuka, step children, Missy Bright and husband Bengee of Corinth, Tina Fisher, Lori Davis, Ray Null and wife Nina of Corinth and Raymond Hazel; grandchild, John Nicholas Vinson, one great grandchild; step grandchildren: Tiffany Cooper, James Cooper and wife Bobi Jo, Rodney Bright and wife Bobbie Jo, Josh Null and John Counderies; 14 step great grandchildren; sister, Sherry Stone and husband Kenny of Wyatt, MS; other relatives and a host of friends. Rex is preceded in death by his wife, Kathy Long; father, Rex Major Long; mother, Delores Diane Gilbert-Massey Long; brother, Donnie Long, sisters, Lisa Fowler and Bonnie Long, 2 step grandchildren, Nichole Counderies and Jeffery Allen Johnson, Jr..
