Mr. Brooks passed from this life on November 15, 2022 at his residence.  Born on August 13, 1941 to the late Richard and Otha Brooks, he was a 1959 graduate of Farmington High School and spent 50 years of his life in manufacturing at ITT and CMC in supervisory positions and still enjoyed the farming experience he learned as a child.  His favorite hobby was planting, harvesting and giving away the fruits of his labor to family and friends. Mr. Brooks is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda; four children, John Brooks, Nancy Kennedy, Jeffrey Moreland (Cindy) and Michael Shane Brooks (Jenny- daughter of his heart); five grandchildren, Chasity Henderson, Hailey Beardslee, Kaitlin Moreland, Kylee Brooks, Rylee Brooks; step grandchildren, Sierra and Christian Thompson; four great grandchildren; brothers, Ricky Brooks (Kay) and Rudy Brooks (Shirley); sisters, Bernice Jackson and Carrie Brock; brothers-in-law, Darrell Woodruff and Charles Dobbins; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by three brothers, James, Paul, and Harry Brooks; and five sisters, Manerva Samples (Chet), Sally Dobbins , JoAnn Isom (Frank), Pat Woodruff  and Marcia Nelms (Grady). Mr. Brooks was a faithful Christian, active member of Pinecrest Baptist Church, and founder of the Pinecrest Weekend Snackpack Program.  He was also an active Gideon who loved handing the Word of God to school children and to students at Northeast MS Community College. His greatest desire in life was to tell everyone he knew and met about his Jesus.  That is his legacy.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pinecrest Weekend Snackpacks for Kids Program (PO Box 2489 Corinth, MS 38834) or Gideon’s International (PO Box 1603 Corinth, MS 38834).
