Funeral services for Sandra Pounders, 82, of Glen are set for 11am Friday, October 2, 2026, at Magnolia Funeral Home -East with interment in Fairview Church of God Cemetery in Tishomingo. Visitation will be Friday, October 2, 2026, from 10am - 11am at Magnolia Funeral Home - East. Minister Roger Pounders and Michael Pounders will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Blake Modlin, Hunter Pounders, Tanner Pounders, Luke Pounders, Michael Pounders and Zach Sawyer. Born June 19, 1944, in Ramer, TN., Mrs. Pounders passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at Magnolia Regional Health Center. She was a retired retail manager and a member of Fairview Church of God. Spending time with her children and grandchildren brought her immense joy. She enjoyed camping, fishing and taking care of her cats. Sandra is survived by her son, David Nixon (Wendy Hammock); daughter, Denise Irwin (Dundee); stepsons, Roger Pounders (Mechelle) and Michael Pounders (Tammy); stepdaughter, Sheri Richardson; 7 grandchildren, Jessica Nixon, Jerrica Nixon, Eli Nixon, Joshua Lindsey,  Candida Hurt (Cory), Blake Modlin (Jationna) and Steven Irwin (Alexandria); 9 step-grandchildren, Ashley (Oscar), Candice, Shelaine (Miguel), Wayne, Tanner (London), Hunter (Bayleigh), Hannah (Titus), Chloe and Luke (Ashley); 12 great-grandchildren; 20 step-great-grandchildren; brothers, Francis "Bud" Smallwood, Randal Smallwood (Sharon) and Don Smallwood (Linda); sisters, Geraldine Gregory and Lynn Phelps (Michael); other relatives and a host of friends. She is preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Noel Pounders; daughter, Johnnie Faye Paden; father, Francis Smallwood; mother, Hazel Bright; and her brother, Dallas Smallwood.
