A Celebration of Life Service for Steve Lair 74, of Corinth, MS will be Sunday, April 19, 2026 at 2:00 P M at Magnolia Funeral Home – East Chapel. Visitation will be Sunday, April 19, 2026 from 12:00 P M until service time at Magnolia Funeral Home – East. Rev. Jared Hight will officiate the service. Mr. Lair passed away peacefully on April 15th at Northeast Mississippi Medical Center.
He was born on September 29, 1951, in Kennett, Missouri, to Wiliferd Lair, Sr. and Mary Lucille Lair.
Steve began his career with Wonder Bread, which brought him to Mississippi. He later worked for Frito-Lay as a route salesman and went on to serve as a district sales manager in Tupelo and Corinth. Over the course of 27 years, he built lasting relationships and earned the respect of colleagues and customers alike.
Steve was known for his kind heart and generous spirit. He would do anything for anyone without expecting anything in return. He enjoyed spending time with friends, especially on golf trips they took a couple of times each year. He also had a deep love for children and was always willing to coach and support youth teams whenever he had the opportunity.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wiliferd Lair, Sr.; his mother, Mary Lucille Lair; and his brother, Wiliferd Lair, Jr. and his beloved dog, Chester.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda (Julian) Lair of Corinth, Mississippi; his sons, Stevie Joe Lair and Rusty Lair (Tiffany) of Tupelo, Mississippi; his daughters, Perashina Camp of Booneville, Mississippi and Samantha Coughlin (Eddie) of Key West, Florida.
He is also survived by his nine beloved grandchildren, Nikki Robertson, Anna Robertson, Joey and Rachel Lair, Emme, Lincoln, and Millie Coughlin, Libby Lee and Bennett Lair; and by his five beloved great-grandchildren, Gunner, Everly, and Nolan Stanton, Kyran Robertson, and Kamiliana (Millie) Floyd.
In addition to his immediate family, he is survived by his brother, Wayne Lair (Brenda) of Kansas City, Missouri; his sisters, Jane Starkey and Kay Bova, both of St. Louis, Missouri; his sister-in-law, Charlotte Lair of Bushnell, Florida; his stepchildren, Jennifer Powell and Justin Powell (Ashley) of Bentonville, Arkansas; and his step-grandchildren, Addison and Owen Powell. He also leaves behind many extended family members, dear friends, and his beloved dog, Boo-Boo.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Griggs, Mike Sellers, Dennis Watson, Ricky Vinson, Eddie Coughlin and Lincoln Coghlin.
